Who The F**k Asked You?!

How to Handle Criticism in Business When You're a Woman Over 40

Hands up if you’ve ever received a passing comment, a raised eyebrow, an unsolicited opinion that you didn’t ask for which has made you question everything?

If you’re a small business owner - especially a woman in her forties and beyond, building something with heart, the chances are you’ve had moments where someone’s comment has totally derailed you. Maybe you started second-guessing yourself. Maybe you’ve held back sharing your talents with the world. Maybe you can’t get the confidence up to just show up in the way you wish you could. Not giving a damn what people think and just doing it anyway.

In today’s podcast episode, we’re talking all about why criticism seems to hit harder in midlife. Surely we should have confidence oozing out of every wrinkle and battle scar on our bodies the amount of shit we’ve most likely been through up to this point.

But instead, we’re feeling more vulnerable and unsure than ever - and this is most likely because we are entering a new era of re-discovering ourselves, one that we aren’t familiar with and one that doesn’t come with the experience we’ve gained from all the years of being a mother, caregiver and a woman whose own goals took backseat while she was needed elsewhere.

Criticism is never easy to receive and even more so when you’re having some major confidence wobbles. So today I’m sharing some personal stories and helping you handle any less than positive feedback you may encounter as you run your business.

I'm giving you some practical ways to protect your confidence, build your resilience and keep going - even when your hands are shaking.

So grab a brew and enjoy this week’s podcast episode! And please do forward this episode to someone else who could do with a confidence boost too - it may be the difference between them doing ‘the thing’ or not. Thank you!
